WE HAVE DONE IT.

The final corner of the final circuit.

Lydden Hill, Sunday 21st October 2018 marked the end of a major journey.

Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make this happen.

Noel.

WE HAVE DONE IT!!!!

The total that MS4MS has now raised for the MS Society is £52,647.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped in any way with MS4MS. Whether that was initially funding the project through our crowdfunding which raised enough money to allow us to get to the various circuits, through to the many, many people who have carried buckets at the various venues that I have set times/performed at. Through to the people who have used their own money to come along to places like The Isle of Man and Scotland to help on the long-distance events.

Just because we have raised over £52K does not mean that we are giving up though. People with MS still require funding for help with this debilitating disease. So, if you haven’t donated yet, please do folks. You will find the button to take you to our 'Just Giving' page above or you can find details of our bank account on our 'Donate' page which you can get to via the header menu at the top of this page.

Noel Wilson, Motor Sport for MS.

Well, it's all done.

I have achieved my dream of setting an official lap time on every mainland MSA-licensed race circuit.

I, along with many other people never thought I would get this 'Bloody Silly Idea' off the ground let alone manage to set 29 official lap times on fully licensed circuits!

Along the way, we have picked up the accolade of winning the MS Societies coveted '2018 Fundraiser of the year award' and raised over £52,000 for the Central MS Society along with my local MS Group and the Peterborough MS Group via my old mate Steve Markham.

Steve, who along with his wife Ann assisted myself and my wife Karen, in initially setting up MS4MS has spent 2019 as the Captain of the senior section of the Rutland County Golf Club and has been involved in various fundraising events at the club including the Captains Day Golf Tournament.

Steve and the Committee of the Seniors Section raised £6,029 which was handed via MS4MS to the Peterborough MS Group at the Golf Clubs Senior Section AGM in November.

Well done to everyone who has put any effort of any kind into the MS4MS team and thanks to you all.

TICKNERS TRAILERS LTD.

They have been 'Behind Us All The Way', and will continue to be.

We thought Motor Sport for MS was pretty much finished, what "A Bloody Silly Idea".
We have been keeping our website up and running as we get a donation through it now and then.
Our main supporters are our long-term donors, who regularly surprise us with donations. And for this we honestly thank you.

Every so often something happens to amaze and astound us. Such an event has happened just recently.

Kevin and Nicky Tickner of Tickners Trailers LTD fame have done it again!

At the beginning of this project my co-conspirator, Mr Steve Markham, and I decided that we couldn't complete the project without using a trailer. It just so happened that Steve was working in Wisbech one day, and next door was a trailer construction company, Tickners Trailers. Steve being Steve, went next door and introduced himself and also, MS4MS to Kevin and Nicky. Kevin and Nicky, being Kevin and Nicky, loved the whole idea of MS4MS and within no time, agreed to get behind the project and agreed to lend us a brand-new trailer for a year.

Towards the end of the year, I realised there was no way that we would complete even 50% of the country's circuits, and we were being offered extras, in the way of Hillclimbs, Sprints, etc all the time.
I went back to Kevin and Nicky, cap in hand. I needn't have worried. As Tickners Trailers were 'Behind Us All The Way.' Kevin, his son, Dan, and Dan's friend had been to help us 'bucket collecting.' at race meetings. After a little discussion, we came to a new deal with Kevin and Nicky. It was, "Keep the trailer as long as you like."

Wow, what a result, this means that I can go on booking the race circuits. By this time most of them had heard about what we were doing and we were offered some fantastic opportunities, like a lap of the full circuit of Oulton Park at the prestigious Gold Cup Meeting. Through contacts made, I also managed to organize a lap of the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. We believe that I'm the only person ever to set an official lap time of a Licensed Grand Prix Circuit on a mobility scooter. I can't understand why nobody else has ever tried it!!!

By the end of the 3rd year we had completed a lap of every circuit, some Sprint Circuits, Carnivals, Hillclimbs; even traveling to Guernsey for 1 round of the British Hillclimb Championship. The jewel in the crown must be the lap of the Isle of Man TT Circuit though! 37.73 miles and 6 and a half hours to complete it!

Then Covid.........

Over the Covid period, it amazed me how many different ways people found to help us raise funds from one of our supporters emptying their piggy banks to another supporter who wrote, produced, and sold a CD of his own music.

In 2022 we were due to hand over yet another cheque to the MS Society at their annual dinner. I invited Kevin and Nicky to join us as our Guests of Honour.
During dinner, Kevin and Nicky had some amazing news for us. They told us that they had decided they were donating the trailer to MS4MS, for us to sell when we had finished with it, and put the money into our fundraising.
Unfortunately, in April 2023 I had a major MS relapse and ended up in hospital for three and a half weeks. This relapse really was a game-changer! I had lost all use of my legs completely and many other problems had shown up. For over a year now I have been bed-bound for around 19 hours per day. Karen has been so busy sorting out problems alongside looking after our house and garden.
We contacted Kevin and Nicky and let them know what was going on, they were great about it saying "The trailer is yours, take as long as you like".
We eventually (well, Karen did really) emptied the trailer and we got in touch with Tickners Trailers to pick up the trailer! Kevin and Nicky had offered to sell the trailer for us back at Wisbech!
When they arrived to get the trailer, they informed me that there was a slight change of plan and now they would like to buy the trailer from us for a donation to MS4MS and would keep it for their personal use and to use around the workshop.
The reason:- that neither Kevin nor Nicky could face having the stickers taken off of the trailer:- It was the trailer's DNA.
The trailer set off towards Wisbech. A couple of hours later I received a message from Nicky saying that they were home, but, as they had been traveling they had been talking about the trailer, and they had come up with another, "Bloody Silly Idea". That is the current hire deal and I'm totally indebted to both Kevin and Nicky for this fantastic idea.

Thank you, Kevin, Nicky, their family and everyone at Tickners Trailers for still being, 'Behind Us All The Way'.

Well, what a surprise that was.

We have been named the MS Society's 2018 'Fund Raiser of the Year' at their very glitzy awards ceremony.

Held at County Hall, London. The awards were hosted by    Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills.

My award was presented by MS Ambassador Stuart Nixon MBE.

I would like to thank everyone at the Society for putting on such a slick event and also the judging team who deemed that my little project was worthy of the award.

I feel very humble.

HOW MUCH HAVE WE RAISED SO FAR?
